Millennium Gateway is designed to be experienced from a distance and up close, paralleling the experience of the visitor as it is approached either from across the street or from the garage. The tall grand spires complete the design of the promenade from the viewpoint of the upper levels of the garage. They welcome the pedestrian leaving BayWalk. The smaller spires and animals provide close up enjoyment and motivate viewers to stop and look at each one, since displays a new animal to be discovered and enjoyed.
Lighting inside the ten fluted promenade spires give the promenade a nighttime beauty and elegance.
Each animal and ribbon was hammered and forged hand the artist.
