Sunken Gardens Bus Trip to The John and Mable Ringling Estate & Tropiflora Nursery

Wednesday, Oct 25th 8:45 am - 5:00 pm
Members: $55 / Non-Members: $65

Leave the driving to us! Travel via air-conditioned passenger van to visit the beautiful Ringling Estate in Sarasota, Florida and shop for plants at Tropiflora Nursery.

Bayfront Gardens
As awe-inspiring as any work of art, the Ringling Bayfront Gardens are a living treasure. Courting Couples statuary watch over Mable’s Rose Garden. Delight in the shade of majestic Banyan trees, the Dwarf Garden, and cooling breezes that blow along the Bayfront Promenade and Millennium Tree Trail.

Ca’ d’Zan Mansion
Explore the ground floor of the circus king and his wife’s home, the Ca’ d’Zan. The mansion stands as a testament to the American dream of the roaring twenties. Inspired by and designed in the Venetian Gothic style of the palazzos that ring the Venice canals, this dazzling palatial mansion perfectly captures the splendor and romance of the Italy the Ringlings so loved.

Circus Museum
Walk the wire, squeeze into a clown car, and snap photos with a ferocious (faux) tiger. Experience parade wagons, posters, glittering costumes, the cannon that shot daring performers through the air, and more.

Museum of Art
From the Rubens Galleries to the Turrell Skyspace, view the permanent collection’s treasures, fascinating exhibitions from around the world, and the classical sculptures that fill the grand courtyard. This awe-inspiring palace was originally built by John Ringling as a legacy to the citizens of Florida.

Tropiflora Nursery is among the top producers in the world of collector-grade bromeliads, succulents, orchids and other exotic tropicals. In business for over 35 years, it includes over six acres of covered greenhouses plus additional open growing areas. A true working nursery, visitors should be prepared to walk on unpaved areas and be in uncovered areas. We’ll spend approximately one hour at this expansive nursery.
