Advisory Commission on Aging -  893-7101
Advises and assists the Office on Aging to provide older residents with recreation and social programs and promote understanding of the elderly.

Advisory Committee for Social Service Allocations - 893-7627
Handles funding requests for Social Service and other basic human needs to benefit residents of St. Petersburg.

Arts Advisory Committee - 551-3250
Promotes the artistic, cultural and historical assets of the City and its environment. Reviews funding requests for cultural and educational programs.

Public Arts Commission- 551-3250
Implements the city's public arts ordinance which promotes public art at public facilities throughout the city. There are nine members on the commission, and for each arts project, an additional six members representing the community

(formerly Board of Adjustment)  Reviews requests for variances for single family property, redevelopment plans of grandfathered units, also reviews applications for historic designations and Certificates of Appropriateness.

Committee to Advocate for Persons with
Impairments (CAPI) - 892-5507

Advises the City on issues concerning the needs and rights of persons who are disabled. Recommends improvements to City facilities, including funding of accessible City playgrounds. Provides guidance to the City in its implementation of regulations that benefit persons with disabilities, includes the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Civil Service Board - 893 7248
Hears appeals from career service employees; advises city staff and council on personnel rules, policies and procedures.

Codes Enforcement Board - 893-7373
Enforces city code regulations and conducts hearings related to the enforcement of occupational licenses, fire, building, zoning, signs and other city code requirements.

Codes Special Magistrate - 893-7373
Conducts hearings related to Code Enforcement Board rulings to determine deference of lien certification so that the property owner can correct violations without penalty, or to certify liens against property for failure to correct violations.

St. Petersburg Community Alliance - 821-4069
This committee was formed to establish improved communications between members of the white and black communities. Its purpose is to establish and maintain communication among whites, blacks and other minorities and to identify and work to solve problems pertaining to employment, small business, education, governmental representation, drug problems and housing. The Alliance currently has 21 white members and 21 black members. It meets monthly and has six committees which also meet monthly. The City of St. Petersburg - through its city administrator's office - has a representative who interfaces with the committee.

Development Review Commission  893 7153 
Considers applications for site plans, special exceptions and variances to land development regulations for large and commercial sites, also reviews changes proposed to land development regulations.

Firemen's Pension Board - 893-7461
Has exclusive responsibility for administration and operation of City of St. Petersburg firefighters' pensions. The committee is responsible for setting policy, and has five members - two who are elected by the firefighters, two who are recommended by the city administrator and approved by City Council, and one who is elected by the other four.

Health Facilities Authority - 893-7401
Arranges for financing or refinancing health care improvement projects on behalf of private, not-for-profit organizations.

Housing Authority of St. Petersburg - 323-3171
(Not a city government agency)
Administers federal housing projects and rental assistance; manages and maintains city housing; explores future public housing areas in St. Petersburg. Members are appointed by City Council.

Human Relations Review Board - 893-7345
Deals with unlawful discrimination complaints in employment, housing, and public accommodations. Sits as an appellate body for those who feel the Human Relations Officer's findings against them were unjust.

International Relations Committee - 893-4143
Deals with international matters as they affect the City and maintains the Sister City relationships; promotes the Student Ambassador Program with the Sister Cities.

Nuisance Abatement Board - 893 -7984
Handles nuisance complaints about controlled substance use, prostitution or youth gang activity at establishments, both residential and commercial. Investigates violations against city statutes and ordinances regarding those three activities.

City of St. Petersburg Pension Board - 893-7461
The Pension Board has the responsibility of the proper maintenance and operation of the Pension System and authorizes refunds of pension contributions, grants and retirements, and approves the continuing payment of retirement incomes. The Employee's Retirement System is administered by a five-member Board of Trustees, composed of: the city administrator, the city director of finance, two city employees who are members of the Retirement System, and one citizen member who is elected by the other four members of the Board for a three-year term.

Civilian Police Review Committee - 893-7229
Reviews citizen complaint cases about sworn police activity. These are cases that have already been investigated and adjudicated by the Police Department. The committee's goal is to determine - through a consensus - whether or not the case findings were adequate and appropriate.
