The Legislative Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations (LAIR) Committee is a City Council Committee comprised of four members and an alternate all of whom are appointed by the Chair of City Council.
The Committee's area's of concern include but are not limited to:
interlocal agreements
laws, rules and regulations proposed to be adopted by the other governmental entities including but not limited to local governments, the Florida Legislature, the Florida Cabinet, Congress, and the President,
promoting cooperation with the other government agencies.
Prior to the beginning of each Congressional and Legislative Session, the City Administration, via the Government Relations Manager, sets forth the policy and budget priorities for that fiscal year for discussion and approval by the LAIR Committee.
The Committee shall have the ability to initiate proposed legislation and recommend that City Council approve the submission of such legislation to the appropriate legislative body.
