Rentals
Camping
Accommodations for overnight camping are available in designated areas of the preserve. Campsites may be rented only by youth groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church youth groups, public and private schools and home schooling groups. The cost of a campsite is $50 for a 24 hour period. Six rustic cabins are also available with the rental of a campsite for the additional cost of $25 per cabin. Each cabin has five bunk beds (sleeps ten per cabin). Two cabins are handicap accessible. Campground areas include the use of a fire circle (permit required). Groups can rent one campsite or a few campsites depending on their needs. Call (727) 893-7326 for more information.
Day Rentals
Boyd Hill Nature Preserve offers a natural, picturesque setting with a variety of options for individuals, groups and businesses looking for a unique location for an event, meeting or retreat. Work sessions, team building events and just taking a quiet break from the business of the day are easily accommodated under the towering pines of Boyd Hill. Rental options include:
Environmental Studies Area (2900 31st Street South)
Osprey's Roost located at the Environmental Studies Area is a screened building with restrooms, a kitchenette and a large outdoor grill. The facility overlooks a scenic pond and seats 30 to 40 people. Available from September to May (below).
Oak Hall located at the Environmental Studies Area is climate controlled and features a stove, refrigerator, microwave and rest rooms. Tables and chairs are provided. This facility seats 50 people. Available from September to May (below).
Pole Barn at the Pinellas Pioneer Settlement is a covered shelter that measure 24' x 48' with a concrete floor, electrical service, picnic tables, and benches available. Restrooms located in an adjacent area. Available from September to May (below).The cost of these facilities is $25 per hour between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and $45 per hour between the hours of 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center (1101 Country Club Way S)
Classrooms and meeting rooms at the Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center seats 30 to 50. Room rentals of three (3) or more hours includes admission to the exhibit area and the park trails. The cost of this facility is $25 per hour between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and $45 per hour between the hours of 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.The Meeting Room at the Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center seats 20 to 30. Room rentals of three or more hours include admission to the exhibit area and the preserve trails. The cost of this facility is $15 per hour between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and $35 per hour between the hours of 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
All Facilities are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
