Photo Contest

BOYD HILL PHOTO CONTEST DEADLINE OCTOBER 14, 2007!

Entries for Boyd Hill Nature Preserve's 25th Annual Photography Contest must be received by 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 14 at the Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center, 1101 Country Club Way South in St. Petersburg.

Categories include animals, plants, landscapes, people in nature, Boyd Hill Nature Preserve and black and white in three classifications: adult, youth (grades 9-12) and children (up to grade 8). A digital photography category is open to all age groups and can be entered in any of the six categories.

Entries will be judged on composition, print quality, adherence to theme and presentation. Prizes will be awarded up to $300. Download an application form or call 727-893-7326.

Awards will be presented at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 3 at the Art Arbor Festival at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. Entries will be displayed at the Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center from October 20 through December 31.

The purpose of the competition is to promote appreciation of our natural environment through the artistic medium of photography and to increase awareness of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve.
