Help City Leaders Prepare the FY 2013 Budget
The city of St. Petersburg is currently preparing the Fiscal Year 2013 Budget, which will go into effect October 1, 2012. As the mayor and members of the City Council work to prepare next year's city budget, your city leaders could use your input as it determines funding priorities to balance the proposed budget. It is now estimated that the city will be facing an approximate $13 million general fund shortfall for FY 2013. This is higher than originally anticipated due to several factors, including the increased costs for fuel, maintaining the city's fleet of vehicles, salary increases required by union contracts, providing benefits and technology.
City residents are invited to participate in the budget process with Mayor Bill Foster and City Council members by sharing their thoughts at one of the following public Budget Summits. All public Budget Summits begin at 6 p.m.
