St. Petersburg protects the health and safety of its citizens by safely and efficiently disposing of wastewater through the citys sewer system. No economical method exists to measure how much water you discharge into the wastewater system. Therefore, the amount you are charged for sewage disposal is measured by the amount of water registered on the meter. That includes a base charge that is billed by the size of your water meter, and a consumption charge based on how much water you use during the monthly billing period.
