The requirements set forth provides specifications for building entrances, interior doors and hardware, hallways, passageways and maneuvering space, bathrooms, lighting, electrical outlets, thermostats and environmental controls. Since its inception, all building code and permitting staff have been trained on the requirements of this ordinance. As of this writing 114 permits have been issued to residence under this ordinance over a three year period; totaling values of over $4.2 million. The integration of visitors and residents through visitability and transportation encourages full community participation.
