Engineering & Capital Improvements

Mission Statement

The mission of the Engineering & Capital Improvements Department is to provide proficient survey, mapping, engineering and architectural design, and construction inspection services for capital improvement and major maintenance projects; to plan, design, and construct facilities and improvements of the highest quality in the most cost effective manner for the residents and visitors of St. Petersburg; and to provide courteous and timely processing of permit applications.

Bid Advertisements & Request for Qualifications

Bid Advertisements and Requests for Qualification for Engineering and Capital Improvements projects may be found at the Procurement & Supply Management Department.

Effective July 1, 2010, the Engineering & Capital Improvements Department has changed the way we notify Engineers, Architects, and other professionals of upcoming Requests for Qualifications (RFQ). As of that date, we began utilizing the database that is maintained by the Procurement Department. Based on their submitted areas of interest, firms registered in the database will be notified via email of upcoming consulting opportunities. We are longer mailing out RFQ notifications. If required by a funding agency, notifications will still be advertised in a local newspaper.

In order for your firm to continue receiving notification, it will be necessary for your firm to register with the Procurement Department following their procedures on the City’s website.
