Worked in Police Department, Leisure Services Administration, Bayfront Center, Stadium Management Team, City Manager's Office, and Mayor's Office. Retired from U.S. Navy Reserve after a 31-year career of active and reserve service.

Personal
He and his wife Marilyn have two daughters, Amanda and Hilary. They also have one grandchild, Gavin.
