Purpose
To provide those interested with the opportunity to investigate firefighting as a career. The program will make available information about the firefighting profession, and the schooling and training required of a firefighter/EMT or paramedic. Fire department protocol and procedures will be explained and ride along opportunities on fire apparatus and hands-on live firefighting drills will be offered.
Eligibility
Anyone (male or female) who is interested in becoming a Fire Explorer should be between 14 and 21 years old, and have already completed the 8th grade. They should also be able to pass a background check, and must be maintaining a 2.0 or C average if in school. Small dues will be collected.
