Join Our Team! Become a firefighter for St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue
Our organization has several Specialty Teams which members can join. These important Teams include SWAT, Dive, USAR and Haz Mat.
Selected individuals will become part of a prestigious team that is rewarded with the following comprehensive benefit package:
• Excellent pay, entry- $34,826.00 top- $54,455.00
• City of St Petersburg pays 75% of individual and family health insurance premiums.
• Pension accrual of a 3% multiplier per year for all creditable years of service
• Fully vested in the pension after 10 years of creditable service
• 5 year Deferred Retirement Option Plan (D.R.O.P.)
• Generous vacation accrual rates. Starting at 175.5 hours of leave for years 1 through 5. Leave increases throughout career.
