Division Chief Gregory L. Lanning is in charge of the Safety and Training Division. He is a State certified Instructor and a State and County certified Emergency Medical Technician. He has also performed as a certified Hazardous Materials Technician and a Field Training Officer.
Chief Lanning was hired in 1974 as a Firefighter. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1980, then to Captain, and then Division Chief in 1999. He served as the City's United Way coordinator in 1990. He is also a member of the International Society of Fire Instructors, Florida Fire Chiefs' Association, and Pinellas County Fire Chiefs Association.
