Local Landmarks

Staff members are responsible for administering the Local Landmarks Program.  An inventory of the buildings and districts listed as Local Landmarks are on file in the Urban Planning and Historic Preservation Division and are available to the public. There are currently more than 80 individual landmarks and 2 historic districts listed as local historic landmarks. Nominations for local landmark status can be initiated by the property owner, any resident of St. Petersburg or any organization in St. Petersburg including the City.

St. Petersburg has more than 80 locally designated historic landmarks, which include exemplary 1920s hotels, ornate commercial buildings, and historic residences. These landmarks are located throughout the city but are principally concentrated in Downtown St. Petersburg and adjoining neighborhoods.
