City of St. Petersburg Celebrates Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 10
ST. PETERSBURG, FL - Mayor Rick Kriseman invites first-time commuters, regular bike commuters and everyone in-between to celebrate Bike to Work Day in St. Pete with a set of three group bicycle rides, ending with a gathering at Williams Park, 330 Second Ave. N.
Citizens and media are invited to join riders at 7 a.m., at three locations:
- Neighborhood Joe, 2609 Dr M.L.K. Jr. St. N.;
- The Historic Train Station at the Morean Center for Clay, 420 22nd St. S.;
- Bartlett Park, 4th St. and 18th Ave. S.
Riders will depart from each location at 7:15 a.m. for Williams Park. Mayor Kriseman will lead the bicycle ride from the Train Station. Once at the park, riders may enjoy free coffee, courtesy of Black Crow Coffee and remarks from Mayor Rick Kriseman at 7:40am.
Bicycling to work is a fast, economical, healthy, and fun way to get to work for many residents. There are currently 36 certified bike-friendly businesses in St. Pete – more than any other city in Florida.
