ST. PETE GETS JULY FOURTH HOLIDAY STARTED WITH VANS WARPED TOUR

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (July 2, 2015) – Fourth of July isn’t the only celebration in St. Petersburg this weekend. The 2015 Vans Warped Tour, an all-day music festival of more than 100 punk, ska and rock bands rolls into Vinoy Park tomorrow, July 3.

In addition to non-stop music, Warped Tour fans can get autographs, attend celebrity meet-and-greets and visit with socially-conscious vendors during the annual alternative music festival that begins at 11 a.m. Hydration stations and misting tents will be on-site for comfort, while cell phone charging stations make sure concert goers are charged and ready to go.  And an air-conditioned Reverse Daycare tent, complete with cool drinks and family-friendly, interactive activities, is available free to adult chaperones until 6 p.m. Adults receive one complimentary admission for each minor (under 18) ticket sold and should pick up passes tomorrow at the Warped Tour tent.

Concert goers may bring a small camera and one sealed bottle of water, but should leave wallet chains, alcohol, firearms, knives, weapons, illegal substances, coolers, pets and umbrellas at home. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com  or at the Warped Tour box office in Vinoy Park tomorrow.Fans purchasing tickets on-site are encouraged to avoid becoming a victim of scams by using the official box office in Vinoy Park.

Visitors to downtown will likely see heavier than normal traffic tomorrow, especially on I-375 at the I-275 interchange and may avoid interstate congestion by using Fourth St. N. or I-175, if coming from the south, and exiting at Third or Second Sts., during peak concert hours.

All-day parking, including accessible spaces, is available in the Sundial garage, 117 Second St. N. and the South Core garage, 100 First Ave. S. for $10 or in the Beach Dr. and Pelican parking lots, located on the Pier Approach, for an all-day rate of $5.

Parking restrictions will be in effect on both sides of Fifth Ave. NE from Bayshore Dr. NE into Vinoy Park; on both sides of Bayshore Dr. from Fifth to Seventh Aves. NE; and on the east side of North Shore Dr. NE from Seventh to 15th Aves. NE during the event.   

Fans, visitors and owners of vehicles displaying Residential Parking permits should obey posted signage and find alternate parking to avoid citations or possible vehicle relocation. Access to the Vinoy Hotel and Vinoy Place Condos will be available via a cone line; traffic will not be permitted east of Vinoy Place. Temporary road closures will also be in effect around the event footprint.
