Parks & Recreation Films Official Music Video for Park Rec Two Step in St. Pete

St. Petersburg, FL (September 2019) – The City of St. Petersburg’s Parks & Recreation Department is filming an official music video for SaulPaul’s Park Rec Two Step after being selected as the national grand prize winner for the National Recreation and Park Association’s #ParkRecTwoStepChallenge as part of Park and Recreation Month. The Department will work with SaulPaul to film the official Park Rec Two Step video in St. Petersburg beginning Friday, September 6.

"We saw so many excellent videos from across the country in this national campaign in my partnership with the NRPA, and St. Petersburg rose to the occasion with a dynamic entry that demonstrates the fun in parks and recreation, health and wellness, social equity, and the leadership of park and recreation employees who serve in our nation’s local and community parks,” said SaulPaul.

The #ParkRecTwoStepChallenge was part of the month-long campaign for Park and Recreation Month with the theme Game On that encourages parks and recreation departments across the nation to promote fun and games in their community. The #ParkRecTwoStepChallenge was hosted by the NRPA and SaulPaul, the musician of the Park Rec Two Step song. Parks and recreation teams from across the nation submitted their #ParkRecTwoStepChallenge on social media. The St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Department’s video featured campers and staff from the City’s recreation center summer camps and Camp Redbird, a therapeutic recreation summer camp.

“We are very excited to receive this prize from the NRPA. Our campers and staff had a lot of fun creating this video, which shines a light on the spirit of the St. Petersburg community,” said Mike Jefferis, Leisure Services Administrator for the City of St. Petersburg. “We look forward to working with SaulPaul to film the official music video, which gives an opportunity to showcase parks and recreation participants and our beautiful city.”

St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Department’s #ParkRecTwoStepChallenge video is featured on the department’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube accounts and on the department’s website at www.stpeteparksrec.org.
