Writer Sharon Kennedy Wynne at Main Library January 16
St. Petersburg, Fla. (January 11, 2016) – Sharon Kennedy Wynne, entertainment and events writer and editor for the Tampa Bay Times, will give a talk Saturday, January 16, at 2 p.m. sponsored by Friends of the Main Library at 3745 Ninth Ave. N., St. Petersburg. She is a consumer reporter looking for deals and writes “5 Things to Do under $5” in the Weekend section.
She describes herself as a mom, foodie, news junkie, and fan of roller coasters and theme parks. But she advises locals to wait to visit Disney World and the other theme parks until mid-January to avoid the holiday crowds. She wrote that her favorite concert of 2015 was a classical one, the early October Florida Orchestra Masterworks concert when Michael Francis made his debut as music director and gave a pre-concert talk.
The Friends of the Main Library have presented cultural and educational programs, free and open to the public, for 50 years. They have sponsored summer youth and family reading projects and have bought supplemental equipment for the library. Membership is open to the public.
