Miss Humblebee's Academy Online Preschool Program – Now Available Through St. Petersburg Libraries

St. Petersburg, Fla. (February 29, 2016) – Miss Humblebee’s Academy, an online program designed to prepare young children ages 3 to 6 for Kindergarten, is now available through the St. Petersburg Library System and the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative.

Through guided lessons and interactive activities with full sound cues, children learn letter-sound relationships, upper and lower case letters, rhyming, parts of a book, comprehension and many of the skills necessary to be successful in Kindergarten.

The program can be used at your favorite community library, at home on your computer, or on a mobile device. St. Petersburg operates seven community libraries including the Main Library, located at 3745 Ninth Avenue North. For more information on how to get started with Miss Humblebee’s Academy, contact the St. Petersburg Main Library, Youth Services section, at 727-892-5296.

All the subject areas are included: math, science, social sciences, social studies, language and literacy, art and music. The curriculum employs a step-by-step approach to learning which becomes more challenging as the child advances. The child does not have to be able to read to use the program. Parents and educators can choose the order in which the topics are presented.

The program evaluates the child’s comprehension of new concepts, and sends parents progress reports that keep them informed about what the child is doing. Children are kept engaged by the music, vibrant pictures and entertaining stories, some traditional like the Lion and the Mouse, and some original – written exclusively for Miss Humblebee’s Academy.
