Grand Canal Water Line Replacement Begins This Week

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (January 24, 2017) – Following emergency seawall repair and replacement, city of St. Petersburg Water Resources workers will begin work tomorrow, January 25, to replace both potable and reclaimed piping in Venetian Isles along Grand Canal Blvd. between Overlook Drive NE and Massachusetts Avenue NE. Crews will begin milling the road for resurfacing. Motorists using Grand Canal Blvd. should be aware of temporary lane restrictions, including closures, during the next two weeks.  Bridge access will be limited to one lane through this weekend.

Beginning Monday, January 30, both lanes of Grand Canal Blvd. will be closed to allow excavation and pipeline installation. Crews hope to open at least one lane by February 4, before restoring curbing and landscaping the following week.
