Minor Leak of Reclaimed Water at Northwest Plant
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (April 12, 2017) – Workers at the Northwest Wastewater Reclamation Facility, 7500 26th Ave. N., discovered a steel pipeline had rusted through causing a discharge of about 15 gallons of fully treated reclaimed water. The water, which was being used to clean filters, was contained in a small area and soaked into the ground. No surface waters were affected. The incident occurred between 4:15 and 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11.
