Resident Input Sought for Roadway Improvements
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (April 20, 2017) – Safety, accessibility and increased traffic flow will be discussed Tuesday, April 25, at 7 p.m. as the City of St. Petersburg presents plans for roadway improvements along the Pinellas Bayway (54th Avenue South).
City planners, traffic consultants and engineers have been taking a hard look at this section of 54th Avenue, including where the busy roadway intersects 41st Street South and Avenue of the States (the main entrance to Eckerd College) in order to maximize traffic flow and provide safe access to the college and the nearby Southwest Wastewater Reclamation facility.
Traffic patterns have been studied, and potential opportunities for improvements have been mapped out, but it is now time for PUBLIC input and review.
The public is invited to hear about the plans for this roadway and offer any suggestions and alternatives at a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 25 beginning at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Maximo Moorings Clubhouse (4908 38th Way South) in conjunction with the normally scheduled gathering of the Maximo Moorings Civic Association.
Representatives from the City, Eckerd College, and the firm studying the traffic flow in the area will be on hand to discuss and decide the “best route forward.” Residents and stakeholders input will be a major part of this gathering.
