Reclaimed Water Leak Repaired at Northwest Plant

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (May 10, 2017) – Workers at the Northwest Wastewater Reclamation Facility, 7500 26th Ave. N., noticed a leak in a reclaimed water effluent sample sink on Tuesday, May 9 at 10 p.m. The source of the leak was a broken PVC pipe. The pipe was replaced by 10:15 p.m. About 30 to 40 gallons of reclaimed (fully treated) water leaked onto and soaked into the ground. The leak was fully contained within the perimeter of the plant and did not reach any surface waters.
