Water main replacement may cause downtown detours and delays

St. Petersburg, Fla.  (August, 10, 2017) -- Downtown workers and residents may have to work-around some necessary utility repairs for the next several weeks as an eight-inch water main is scheduled for replacement along Second Street N, between Second Avenue N and Central Avenue.

The work will begin on or about August 14 and continue through September 1, 2017.

In preparation for this project, it is expected that there will be periodic road and sidewalk closures as well as interruptions in parking in the immediate area.

While there is no firm date on when this work will impact specific areas, please be assured that local access to residences and businesses should be maintained at all times.  However, minor disruptions are inevitable and we appreciate your patience and cooperation during the construction process.

Construction crews shall notify affected businesses in advance of the commencement of the work that will affect them directly.

Should you have any questions, please contact Mark DiNobile with St. Petersburg Water Resources at (727) 892-5841.
