 Mayor Rick Kriseman Selects The Callaloo Group To Lease And Operate The Manhattan Casino;
NFL's Vincent Jackson Among Partners

The City of St. Petersburg recently received four bids to lease and operate the Manhattan Casino located at 646 22nd Street S. Following a thorough review of the bids and follow-up conversations with two of the bidders, The Callaloo Group and The Manhattan Casino Legacy Collaborative, Mayor Rick Kriseman determined that 'Callaloo' is best positioned to succeed based on their restaurant and event experience, financial strength, commitment to hiring from within the Community Redevelopment Area, and willingness to collaborate with the community to highlight the building's rich history and legacy.

An extraordinary group of individuals have come together to form 'Callaloo', including President/Partner Ramon Hernandez (Pipo's), Vice President/Partner Vincent Jackson (San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR, 4-time Walter Payton 'Man of the Year' nominee, Entrepreneur and Restaurateur), Executive Chef/Partner Gary Moran, and Director of Development/Partner Mario Farias.

"The near and long-term future of the Manhattan Casino is bright. I am confident that the team behind 'Callaloo' will bring new energy, great food, service, and exciting events to this historic corridor,' said Mayor Rick Kriseman.

Mayor Kriseman, city leaders, and Ramon Hernandez and Vincent Jackson of The Callaloo Group will deliver remarks at Noon at the Manhattan Casino.
