Venetian Isles Seawalls set for re-hab

St. Petersburg, Fla.  (October 11, 2017) – Repairs are set to begin within a matter of weeks on the seawall at Venetian Isles Causeway.  Work on the seawall along Grand Canal Boulevard NE from Point Overlook Drive NE to Carolina Avenue NE and at Mermaid Point NE is scheduled to start in November and should be completed by May, 2018.

This periodic general maintenance and repair extends the useful life of the Venetian Isles seawall system at a cost of just over $250,000.  The contractor is scheduled to install reinforced seawall, concrete cap and anchor systems, seal cracks and install relief drains.

While there may be some temporary lane closures and local detours during this process, Midcoast Construction Enterprises, LLC – the project’s contractor – shall notify any homeowner at least 7-10 days before any specific work on their property is set to begin.

There will be a City of St. Petersburg Construction Inspector available to answer any questions – or address any on-going issues “in the field” during this process.  Mr. Dan Freshley can be reached at (727) 892-5491 for any additional information.

The re-habilitated seawall will be completed and ready for use by the Summer of 2018.
