Weekly Recreational Water Quality results updated

St. Petersburg, Fla.  (December 8, 2017) – The weekly Recreational Water sampling and testing has been completed by the on the near-shore waters along Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Listed below are the results and Water Quality Category according to the Healthy Beaches Program for Lassing Park and the Beaches from the December 6th and 7th sampling events. 

Lassing Park    60 CFU/100 ml     Moderate

Maximo Beach     8 CFU/100 ml     Good

Northshore Beach    84 CFU/100 ml    Poor

Treasure Island Beach    8 CFU/100 ml    Good

Because of the high levels of enterococci Colony Forming Units (CFU) detected in the tests from Northshore Beach, signs have been posted notifying swimmers of the findings.  Notification has also been made to the Sailing Center, USF and The Harborage.  In addition, new samples have already been re-taken today and results will be posted by mid-day Saturday.
