Water main break closes intersection
St. Petersburg, Fla. (January 24, 2018) – The rupture of an eight-inch water main at the under 25th Street South at 16th Avenue South has closed that intersection until further notice.
Crews from the City’s Water Resources Department will be replacing approximately 30 feet of pipe at that location – and while residential water service has not been affected – the potable water line should be “back to normal” by later this afternoon.
Due to the leaking water, there has been some erosion at the intersection, and there has been some impact to underground storm drains as well. The repairs on that may keep the intersection closed for a longer period of time.
We will alert as the intersection is re-opened.
