City Moves Forward On Tangerine Plaza Redevelopment  Plan

St. Petersburg, Fla. (April 12, 2018) - As the city moves  forward with its ongoing investment in South St. Petersburg, it will be  releasing a Request for Proposal (RFP) in late April / early May 2018 for  the Tangerine Plaza development site, located at 1794 22nd St. S.

In 2017, city officials began considering redevelopment and re-use  options for Tangerine Plaza after a second major grocery store closed and  the signature shopping plaza was conveyed to the city. After implementing  a pilot designed to shuttle residents to alternative grocery stores, convening  several community conversations and completing a market analysis, the city  is ready to take the next steps to find a sustainable business for the 47,000 SF space.

"I am pleased to see us moving forward with  the next steps for Tangerine Plaza, and I am looking forward to the responses  we get from this Request for Proposals," says Mayor Rick Kriseman. "I hope  anyone interested in this important parcel of land will submit a proposal  for our review. I want to thank my economic development and urban affairs  teams for their work in getting this done."

The Greenhouse has expanded technical assistance programming related to RFPs and government  contracting opportunities that include:

  • How to Successfully Respond to a Government RFP, a new training workshop.
  • Specific, individualized and confidential one-on-on business consultation and mentorship opportunities scheduled throughout May and June with government contracting experts.

Dates for technical assistance will be available online at  stpetegreenhouse.org. Assistance is offered at no-cost.

A Walk-Through of the Tangerine Plaza premises will be scheduled for parties interested  in responding to the RFP after it is formally released to the public.

The RFP will be available at stpete.org/realestate.
