Precautionary Boil-Water Notice Issued for Tyrone Gardens area

St. Petersburg, Fla.  (April 18, 2018) – A four-inch main providing potable (drinking) water service to residents along 58th Street North was taken out of service by a private plumbing contractor as they were replacing a private sanitary sewer lateral.  Following repairs – and flushing – of the water line providing service to customers from 960 to 1050 58th Street North, a PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE is being issued.

Even though there is no reason to believe that contaminants have entered the system, customers in this area of Tyrone Gardens are being asked to – in the interest of safety – boil all water that is to be used to drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes.  A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient.  As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

This PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE will remain in effect until the problem has been completely corrected and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
