Recreational Water Quality Results Updated

St. Petersburg, Fla.  (May 10, 2018) – The weekly Recreational Water sampling and testing has been completed by the Environmental Compliance Division of St. Petersburg Water Resources Department on the near-shore waters along Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Listed below are the results and Water Quality Category according to the Healthy Beaches Program for the Beaches and Lassing Park for the May 9th, 2018 sampling event.

Lassing Park  4 Good
Maximo Beach  4 Good
Northshore Beach  4 Good
Treasure Island Beach  4 Good
The number represents the total of Colony Forming Units (CFU) of Enterococci and the scale is based on the following criteria:

Good = 0-35 Enterococci CFU per 100 milliliters of marine water
Moderate = 36-70 Enterococci CFU per 100 milliliters of marine water
Poor = 71 or greater Enterococci CFU per 100 milliliters of marine water

All of these samples are taken and testing is being done in accordance with the water testing protocols outlined in the City’s Water Quality Report Card.  Testing results from these – and other samples – are always available on the City of St. Petersburg’s Recreational Water Quality Page.
