Storm Drain Improvements coming to Childs Park

St. Petersburg, Fla.  (June 12, 2018) – Drainage improvements are coming to help keep neighborhoods around Childs Parka little drier.

The City of St. Petersburg has authorized a $2,558,761.55 project to replace and enhance existing stormwater drainage systems along Eighth Avenue South from 44th through 46th Streets and along 44th Street South between 8th and 11th Avenues South.  Part of the funding for the project is coming from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) through a cooperative funding agreement.

This important capacity-enlarging project is scheduled to begin August 2018 and proceed through April 2019.  The construction schedule is subject to change based on weather and unforeseen circumstances.

The contractor, Kamminga and Roodvoets, Inc., shall notify residents or businesses 7-10 days prior to work in their immediate vicinity.   Local access should be maintained at all times with construction of temporary roadways and driveway aprons.

While our contractor has been directed to make every effort to minimize inconvenience, we realize minor disruptions may be inevitable.  We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this construction progress.
