ARTS AND CULTURE GRANT WORKSHOP SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 20th
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (May 18, 2015) – Eligible nonprofit arts and culture organizations are invited to apply for a city of St. Petersburg arts grant to help reduce the organization’s operating expenses for budget year 2016. Applications and guidelines to receive funds are available to review at http://www.stpete.org/assistance/grants_and_contracts/internal_grants_program.php. Grants are due on or before 5 p.m., Friday, June 12.
Organizations interested in applying for Fiscal Year 2016 arts grant funding are encouraged to attend an informational workshop, Wednesday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Petersburg City Hall, 175 Fifth Street North, in Room 100. To be eligible, a nonprofit cultural organization must serve the residents of St. Petersburg.
Once all grant requests have been received, the city’s Arts Advisory Committee will evaluate the applications and make recommendations to City Council in October. The grant amount provided to each organization depends on the merit of the organization’s application and its operating budget. Last year, City Council approved $213,000 to 21 arts and cultural organizations, including American Stage, Creative Clay, the St. Petersburg Opera Company, St. Petersburg Preservation and more.
