Water main leak stopped.  Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued

St. Petersburg, Fla. (August 15, 2018) – Repairs have been completed (as of 2:06 pm) to a ten-foot section of 8-inch water main along Raphael Boulevard in Snell Isle.  During the time of cocnstruction and repair to the line, some customers experienced minor drinking water service interruptions.   Approximately 10-20 customers along the 900 block of Snell Isle Boulevard have experienced lower water pressure during the repair process.

It is not clear what caused the break in the service line but repairs were successfullly completed by early afternoon.

About 30 households along Snell Isle Blvd, Raphael Blvd, Nina and Appian Way have been issued Precautionary Boil Water Notices because of the repairs and drop in pressure.

Ongoing tests will let researchers know when the water is deemed safe to drink and that information will be shared with those affected. For more information on the Boiled Water Notice protocols: http://www.stpete.org/water/drinking_water/docs/What%20Does%20a%20Boil%20Water%20Notice%20Mean.pdf
