Reclaimed Water leak stopped

St. Petersburg, Fla. (August 16, 2018) – During ongoing repairs to the sanitary sewer line by contractors working for the city, a two-inch hole punched into a 12-inch reclaimed water line near the intersection on 34th Avenue and Cherry Street NE.

Fully-treated reclaimed water escaped from the small hole into a catch basin nearby and then conveyed into Smacks Bayou.  While 317 gallons were vacuumed, another 26,000 gallons of fully-treated reclaimed water went into Smacks Bayou.
