Recreational Water Quality Results Update August 6, 2018

 

St. Petersburg, Fla.  (August 6, 2018) – The weekly Recreational Water sampling and testing has been completed by the Environmental Compliance Division of St. Petersburg Water Resources Department on the near-shore waters along Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Listed below are the results and Water Quality Category according to the Healthy Beaches Program for the Beaches and Lassing Park for the August 5, 2018 sampling event.

Maximo Beach  24  Good
Northshore Beach  16  Good

Treasure Island Beach  4  Good
Lassing Park  20  Good

Florida Healthy Beaches Program Categories are:
Good = 0-35 Enterococci per 100 milliliters of marine water 
Moderate = 36-70 Enterococci per 100 milliliters of marine water 
Poor = 71 or greater Enterococci per 100 milliliters of marine water

All of these samples are taken and testing is being done in accordance with the water testing protocols outlined in the City’s Water Quality Report Card .  Watch for important updates as well as continued outreach and education on the Recreational Water Quality Page.
