- Use any public city library computer
- Visit the Employment office computer kiosk on Mon., Wed. or Fri. from 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
When should I submit a resume in addition to a job application form?
- Some vacancies require a resume in addition to the standard City Employment Application form. The posted job information will usually state this requirement. Even if not required, well prepared resumes send a professional, polished message to hiring departments, so it is always preferred to include your resume with the application form for any job.
- All vacancies have minimum education, license, certification, history and experience requirements that you must meet in order for your application to be considered. A resume helps to clearly and concisely outline the skills, experience and education that qualify you for the job.
Will you keep my application on file for future vacancies?
- Because of the large volume of applications received, the Employment office is unable to keep applications on hold pending a match to a possible future vacancy.
Will my one application be used for several vacancies?
- You must apply separately for each vacancy. You may submit copies of your application and resume, but each copy must have an original signature and indicate the vacancy of interest. Better than making copies, we recommend you register for the City's online application process. Once you register, you may view current vacancies and apply for jobs through the Internet. Go towww.stpete.org/jobs for more information about Job Applications Online.

- Call (727) 893-7033 for the latest information on the most recently filled positions so you will know if the position of interest has already been filled.
- To make sure you are considered for the jobs you want:
- Each time a position is posted, even if you have applied before, you should apply again if you want to be considered.
- It is important to note that hiring departments always have the option of considering applicants who applied for an earlier vacancy (within the prior six months). Most vacancy postings will include a reminder that: "Applicants interested in applying for this classification should apply now. Vacancies of the same class that occur in the next six months may be filled from the applicants who applied for this vacancy."
- Always make sure your application will arrive before the advertised close date.
