Carl Blahut started his career with the city in the Stormwater Division in 1975. As director, he oversees the operation, repair and maintenance of the city's drainage, sidewalks, roadways and traffic signal systems. Carl was formerly supervisor of Stormwater Operations in 1987, then promoted to manager of Stormwater & Pavement Operations of the Engineering Department in 2000.
He attended the University of Missouri at Columbia and currently holds a Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association, Stormwater "A" license.
Carl is a member of the American Public Works Association and the Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association, and has served as a committee member for the Florida Department of Education, Employee Apprenticeship Training Program for St. Petersburg.
