Dave Goodwin started his career with the City of St. Petersburg in 1985 as an entry level city planner. He became the Economic Development Director in early 2005. In his current position he is responsible for the City's economic development strategy, business recruitment and retention activities, annexation, community redevelopment area programs, and the development of regional impact program.
He has a bachelor's degree in urban planning from the University of Cincinnati, and a master's degree in urban and regional planning from Florida State University.
Dave is an active member of the Florida Redevelopment Association, the International Economic Development Association, the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks and the American Planning Association. He also participates in the Mayor's Mentors and More program as a National Teach-In Day volunteer.
