David H. DeKay
Assistant Chief of Police, Investigative Services Bureau
Hired by the St. Petersburg Police Department in 1982, Assistant Chief of Police David H. DeKay is responsible for management of one third of the city’s police department to include all detectives, school resource officers, support personnel, forensic technicians, supervisors and managers of the following divisions: Crimes Against Persons, Crimes Against Property, Youth Resources, Forensic Services, Intelligence and Vice and Narcotics.
He holds a bachelor's degree from Wayne State University and attended the Senior Managment Institute for Police in Boston. He has been nominated for the prestigious Ned March Award and Officer of the Year Award, and was named the Best Marksman of TAC School.
