Joshua A. Johnson began his service with the city in 2001, and is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting and budgeting and the administration of the policies as they pertain to housing, community development initiatives and public services funded with HOME Investment Partnership Act (HOME), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), Housing Capital Improvement Program (HCIP) and Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) funding.
Joshua holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in public administration from Florida International University. He was commended by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for working with his staff to achieve HUD's timeliness expenditure requirements.
He is currently active with the American Society for Public Administration and the Florida Community Development Association.
