Michael Connors started his career with the city as the Engineering Director in 1987. He is a registered professional engineer in Florida, with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Cleveland State University, and an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College.
He serves on the City's Fire Pension Board, Tampa Bay Estuary Program Management Board, is Vice Chair of the Investment Oversight Committee, Chair of the Consultant Selection Committee, and Vice Chair of the County Solid Waste Technical Management Committee. He is an active member of the Florida Engineering Society, American Public Works Association, Florida Green Building Coalition, United States Green Building Council, Star Steering Committee, Florida Local Environmental Resource Agencies, Florida Lake Management Society, and Board Member of the Florida Stormwater Association.
