Chandrahasa “Chan” Srinivasa has worked with the City of St. Petersburg since 1998. Before being appointed City Clerk in August 2014, he worked with the Parks and Recreation Department, most recently serving as Parks and Recreation Manager over Athletic and Park Operations, from 2010 to 2014. Previously, he was Parks Operation Foreman, 2006 to 2010 and Parks Maintenance Leadworker, 2003 to 2006.
Chan will soon obtain his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology, in Melbourne, Florida. He earned a Bachelor’s in Applied Science Management and Organizational Leadership from St. Petersburg College in 2009; and an Associate in Arts, also from SPC in 2007.
Additional education includes Parks and Recreation Maintenance Management School, from North Carolina State University in Wheeling, West Virginia; and an Associate in Religious Education from Christ The King Theological Seminary in Tarpon Springs, Florida in 2001.
Chan is a Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) through the National Alliance for Youth Sports Administrators and an Associate Parks and Recreation Professional from the National Recreation and Parks Association.
Accomplishments and appointments include city staff support roles with the Charter Review Commission; City Council’s Public Service & Infrastructure Committee; CareFest St. Petersburg, 2007-2013; United Way Employee Campaign Chairperson; and Interim Chairperson for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Justice Parade Task Force, 2013-2014.
He has been active in the community as an Executive Assistant Pastor at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church; mentor with 5000 Role Models of Excellence / Pinellas County Schools and St. Pete’s Promise; past board member, Crescent Foundation; and president, Delta Omicron Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
