Alan DeLisle joined the city in 2015 as City Development Administrator. He has spent over 25 years in the economic development and public policy field, specializing in public-private economic development partnerships that transform communities, expand commerce and help to create jobs for local residents. Alan has managed Economic Development City Departments for Buffalo, New York and Durham, North Carolina; served as Executive Director of not-for-profit Development Corporations in Buffalo and Louisville, Kentucky; led the Durham Workforce Development Board; and served as Durham’s Assistant City Manager.
Alan earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications/Journalism from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York. He continued his education at the State University of New York Albany, earning a master’s in Political Science with a concentration in State and Local Government. He is also a Certified Economic Development professional by the International Economic Development Council.
Alan has been a member of many national economic development organizations including the International Economic Development Council, the International Downtown Association and the Urban Land Institute.
