The City of St. Petersburg has been selected by the State of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to be one of five communities to participate in a pilot program to explore options for regulating the anchoring or mooring of non-live-aboard vessels outside the marked boundaries of public mooring fields.
The following are the "Special Events" described in "Sec. 7-222. - Anchoring Restricted." of the St. Petersburg - Code of Ordinances:
Anchoring shall be allowed in the South Yacht Basin for the following "Special Events" from 10:00 AM, the day before the commencement of the event, until 5:00 PM on the day after the conclusion of the event:

Memorial Day Weekend
July 4th
Labor Day
Ribfest
Grand Prix
Taste of Pinellas
