FROM THE CITY OF ST. PETERSBURG
St. Petersburg, Fla. (Aug 09, 2007) – Today, two student ambassadors who traveled to St. Petersburg's Sister City, Takamatsu, Japan, will appear before St. Petersburg City Council to briefly recount their experiences and present a gift from Takamatsu's Mayor Onishi to the city. Members of the media will have an opportunity to interview the student ambassadors, Zoe Williams and Kanyon McLean, following the council presentation at 3 p.m.
The students were selected by the city's International Relations Committee to represent St. Petersburg for the annual official Sister City visit, July 8 to 28. St. Petersburg, Florida and Takamatsu, Japan have participated in the international program as Sister cities for 47 years.
