Grand Opening of Savannah's Café Friday
SOUTHERN CHARM COMES TO ST. PETE!

St. Petersburg, Fla. (August 30, 2007) - The public is invited to join Mayor Rick Baker, along with members of City Council and other dignitaries for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1113 Central Avenue, Friday, August 31 at noon in celebration of the grand opening of Savannah's Restaurant.

Following the ribbon cutting, Savannah's Restaurant will host a grand opening reception featuring highlighted dishes from their signature southern cuisine and live entertainment by John Thomas & Jimmie Pillucere.

About Savannah's Restaurant:

Housed in a historic architectural gem in downtown St. Petersburg, Savannah's inspired cuisine takes a modern twist on the rich roots of southern lifestyle. Open Monday through Saturday for dinner, guests can enjoy home style favorites like grits with shrimp, jambalaya and pineapple upside down cake. Owned and managed by longtime St. Petersburg residents and business owners Edyth James and John Warren, Savannah's Restaurant is another successful business opening through the help of various city of St. Petersburg departments including Development Services and Midtown Economic Development's Business Assistance Center.
