NEW GOLF CART ACCOMMODATES GOLFERS WITH DISABILITIES
St. Petersburg, Fla. (November 20, 2008) - The city's Mangrove Bay and Cypress Links Golf Courses, 875 62nd Ave. NE., now offer a new golf cart available for use by persons with disabilities. The single rider golf cart allows a wheelchair user or golfer with mobility limitations to play a round of golf directly from the cart, using a swivel type seat. The single rider cart was provided through funds from the city's Committee to Advocate for Persons with Impairments (CAPI).
St. Petersburg Golf Courses Director Jeff Hollis stated, "We appreciate CAPI's generous contribution to our golf program that has provided this unique new golf cart that will allow individuals in our community with disabilities, the opportunity to play golf."
Regular golf cart rental fees will be charged for the new single rider golf cart. Golfers may reserve the new accessible golf cart up to seven days in advance by calling the Mangrove Bay Golf Course Pro Shop at 893-7800.
