Applications Available For 2008 Mainsail Arts Festival
ENTRY DEADLINE IS SATURDAY, JANUARY 12
St. Petersburg, Fla. (December 20, 2007) -- Artist entry applications are now available for the 33rd Annual Mainsail Arts Festival - to be held April 19 and 20, 2008, in Vinoy Park, on St. Petersburg’s downtown waterfront. Artist entry applications must be postmarked by January 12, 2008. Entry fees include a $25 non-refundable jury fee and a $225 space fee (for a 10 X 10-ft space). All fees are due at time of application, along with four slides, including one of entire display and three showing art work.
Once accepted, over 250 exhibiting artists from all over the U.S. will present their original work for sale or available for commission in the following categories: ceramics, fibers, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, oil/acrylic, photography, sculpture, watercolor and wood.
Named by Sunshine Artist magazine among the “100 Best” fine art shows in the nation, artists exhibiting will be eligible for $50,000 in cash awards, including the $10,000 Best of Show. The two-day premiere cultural event combines visual and performing arts along with opportunities for children to actively engage in art activities. There will be an assortment of culinary arts as well as Mainsail souvenirs. Admission is free.
The Mainsail Arts Festival is a non-profit organization supported by four major sponsors: the city of St. Petersburg, the St. Petersburg Times, the Junior League of St. Petersburg and Clear Channel Outdoor.
